Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous proved the franchise could work on TV and each season has something unique to offer. Sammy Gutierrez and Yasmina (Yaz) Fadaoula were at opposite ends of the social spectrum when they were introduced to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Sammy was laid-back and into humor, while Yaz was more of a sporty teenager. But also, they might not want to do that considering the target audience, not that they don't wanna show a gay relationship on a Y7 show, but because its VERY rare for a Y7 show to have an actual obvious relationship, gay or otherwise.
I like the Sam and Yaz ship honestly, but I think it works better as just a friendship. For five seasons, Netflix’s Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous has quietly been the best thing in the franchise since the first film. The series follows group of teenagers who find themselves. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is about leaving places better off than when you found them.
That's rings true for Yaz and Sammy, who helped each other learn, grow, and love. Or why not develop Sammy and Yaz into that as well, because the last three seasons had their relationship developed beautifully. I'd also argue out of all girls, Brooklynn is the one that has is yaz gay in camp cretaceous chemistry with Kenji. and his character suddenly goes revolving around depending on Brooklynn, which is just so not-Kenji.
